About Us / History
In September 1969, New Berlin Ornamental Iron & Specialty, Inc. was
started by Heinrich J. Hofmann and Clyde Minor producing Ornamental and
Balcony railings out of a two-car garage. Mr. Minor left the company
in 1972 following which Mr. Hofmann continued to grow the business. In 1974,
Mr. Hofmann built the company’s 28,000 square foot plant on West Lincoln
Avenue. Due to the successful growth and diversity of the company, it’s
name was changed to Superior Structural Corporation in 1989. Since Mr.
Minor left the company, it has been a privately owned family business. In
1993,
Mr. Hofmann passed away. Since then, the business has been owned and
managed by his wife Renate E. Hofmann and her children.
Currently Superior
Structural Corporation is a full service structural
steel fabricating shop specializing in custom built structural steel
and miscellaneous metals; which include railings, stairs, ladders,
mezzanines and decorative ornamental rails; all made of steel.
