Fabricated Steel Beams of a Hospital Trauma Center![]() Heavy Duty Steel Column Assembly ![]() Steel Beams ![]() Fabrication of Mercy Hospital Trauma Center
A customer in the medical industry hired Superior Structural Corporation to manufacture the columns and custom curved steel canopy for their hospital's renovated trauma center entrance. We fabricated the steel tubing in the desired forms, using a number of processes to properly shape the steel. This beam assembly was constructed of complex connections that required skill and practical experience to execute correctly. The intended level of detail was maintained without sacrificing our exacting quality standards. This project used 175 tons of wide flange beams; heavy duty wide flange beams in sizes W 14x193 and W 24x306; and tube steel sizes 6"x6", 8"x8" and 10"x10" of varying thicknesses. ASTM A500-10A grade "B" and "C" tube steel and ASTM A992-2006 grade wide flange were the particular steels used in this application. Parts were cold galvanized, and the exposed exterior material was prime painted gray. This project took place from July 2011 through September 2011, and constructed in Janesville, Wisconsin. For over four decades, Superior Structural has been committed to providing high quality structural steel fabrications to clients in a range of industries with a host of applications, including custom decorative installations, catwalks, mezzanines, and heavy duty construction.
