The operator of a farmer's market in Milwaukee, Wisconsin contracted Superior Structural Corporation to manufacture the steel trusses that would be used in the interior of their new building. The components were fabricated from ASTM A36/A572/A992 grade wide flange beams. These heavy duty trusses utilized a number of processes to achieve the required curvature.
We used approximately 45 tons of split wide flange beams in sizes WT 6x25 and WT 7x41, along with welded 4"x4" steel angle cross members, all of which were primed gray. Completed overall truss dimensions were 65' - 75' long and 10' wide. Fabrication and erection took place in phases from November 2004 through May 2005.
